Word Voyage ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy, especially for our explorers of all ages. This policy explains how we handle information in our application.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) from children.
Accounts: We use Firebase Authentication (Google Sign-In). We only store a unique User ID and your email to save your personal word history. We do not share this email with any third parties.
Word Generation: When you generate a word, we send a request to OpenAI. No personal data or user identifiers are included in these requests.
2. Third-Party Services
We use the following industry-standard services to provide the Word Voyage experience:
Google Firebase: To securely store your word history and manage your login session.
OpenAI: To generate creative words, meanings, and examples.
Google AdMob: To display family-friendly advertisements. We have explicitly configured AdMob to be COPPA compliant, meaning we only show non-personalized, G-rated ads suitable for general audiences.
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our app is designed for users aged 5 and above. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. All advertising within the app is restricted to family-friendly content.
4. Data Control and Deletion
You have full control over your data:
Individual Words: You can delete any specific word from your history at any time within the History screen.
Account Deletion: You can delete your entire account and all associated history using the "Delete Account" option in the app menu. This action is permanent and wipes all your data from our systems.
